Battle Ready Book Review
I received Battle Ready by Kelly Balarie a few months ago to read and review. I have a few reviews to post tonight so please hang with me. I have been reading. I just haven’t really been posting. I need to make more time. I’m reading all of these books to inspire me to manage my time better; yet here I am, still running late!
Battle Ready is a book to train your mind to conquer challenges, defeat doubt and live victoriously. I really thought that sounded like something I could benefit from during this time in my life. Really, couldn’t we all benefit from all of the above anytime during our lives?
This book really explains that we don’t have to be scared when faced with uncertainty or insecurity or our past mistakes. The author really lists out ways to help shift perspective to help us make new habits, disarm the seven most common attacks that plague women, exchange negative thoughts for positive, purpose-driven thoughts, implement 30 second mind-lifters that deliver peace and create boundaries to help live life full of what matters.
I love how each chapter is broken down into different mindsets. As she takes you through each chapter she teaches you to reflect on how you see things, how God sees things, and then she gives you these little challenges to really help you put things into perspective and learn how to make changes. She gives you the opportunity to pray and write things you’re thankful for. You can really track your growth and progress as you go through the book.
It’s always so difficult for me writing reviews when a book is so involved because I don’t want to be a spoiler. But, I do enjoy books like these because they encourage you to write and to think. It doesn’t matter what we’re facing, as long as we’re properly armed for the battle, with God on our side, we can face anything!
